The vegetarian Vitamin D3 active ingredient is combined with K2. The K2 is present in the particularly bioactive all-trans form and is also called MK7. Highly bioavailable thanks to the oil base – the fat-soluble Vitamin D and K2 are absorbed already in the mouth and are therefore available to the body particularly quickly. However, modern lifestyles, protective clothing, and months with little sun often lead to a deficiency – according to the Robert Koch Institute, fewer than 40 % of adults in Germany are adequately supplied. Therefore, targeted supplementation is recommended – especially in autumn and winter or when sunbathing is not possible or not desired.

Which Vitamin D3 + K2 drops are the best?

Good Vitamin D3 + K2 drops contain a dose of Vitamin D3 between 1,000 and 10,000 IU as well as Vitamin K2 in the bioavailable MK7 all-trans form. The correct ratio between Vitamin D3 and K2 is very important.

• With 1,000 IU of Vitamin D3, at least 40 µg of K2 in the all-trans form should be included.
• With 4,000 IU of Vitamin D3 – 160 µg of K2
• With 5,000 IU of Vitamin D3 – 200 µg of K2.

There should be no additives, and production should take place in certified controlled facilities. Vitamin D3 can come in vegan or vegetarian forms. Vegan Vitamin D3 can be derived from lichens and algae, with lichen-based D3 generally being of higher quality. Vitamin D3 and K2 should be dissolved in high-quality oils, preferably organic MCT oil.

How should you best dose Vitamin D3 K2 drops?

The permitted maximum dose in the EU is currently 4,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per day, ideally combined with 160 µg of K2. Products containing 4,000 IU per drop are optimal. Alternatively, you can take 4 drops of a product with 1,000 IU per drop.

How many Vitamin D3 K2 drops per day?

The dosage depends on the concentration per drop. Preparations often contain 1,000 IU of Vitamin D3. Depending on individual needs, the recommended daily amount is often between 1,000 and 4,000 IU.

How should you take Vitamin D3 drops?

Vitamin D3 drops should ideally be taken with a fatty meal since the vitamin is fat-soluble. Some preparations already contain MCT oil or similar carriers for better absorption.
