Krill Oil (Euphausia superba) ) is characterized by its high purity degree and its high content of astaxanthin, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and phospholipids.

Highest quality is ensured by special protective capsules. Antarctic krill oil by Dr. med. Michalzik oil is not coated with the conventional soft gel capsules, but with an oil protective capsule, that does not have the disadvantage of the permeability of the conventional soft-gel capsules. The higher the quality of an omega-3 oil , the higher is the necessity to protect it’s quality. Biotikon has filled 100% pure krill oil in special capsules. If you open a container of Dr. Michalzik’s Krill Oil, you will not notice any smell. Also, if you consume larger quantities of krill oil capsules even on an empty stomach, no acid eructation or burping will be experienced. Our capsules are not made of pork gelatin or bovine gelatin as are most conventional soft-gel capsules for krill oil.

Omega 3 from Krill Oil
Omega 3 fatty acids from krill oil are bound to phospholipids and thus, particularly, well-absorbed. Phospholipids are very valuable components of human cell membranes. This is especially important for the brain. Omega fatty acids from plants still have to be absorbed with the help of bile acids. The very valuable alpha-linolenic acid contained in plants is a precursor of EPA. For the EPA synthesis in the body, only about 10% of EPA occurs in comparison to the absorbed alpha-linolenic acid. Omega 3 fatty acids from fish are primarily bound to triglycerides and not to phospholipids.

Omega 6 Fatty Acids should be in a Balanced Relationship with Omega 3 Fatty Acids.
Today's diet contains a large preponderance of omega 6 fatty acids. A ratio of 15 to 20 in comparison to 1 at the expense of Omega 3 fatty acids is not uncommon. Foods such as cereals, poultry, eggs and also edible oils contain a high amount of omega 6 fatty acids but not Omega 3 fatty acids. Even aqua cultured (farmed) fish, is primarily fed with Omega 6 fatty acids and, therefore, contains an increased amount in this product. Krill oil derived from fish of the pure waters of Antarctica is a excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids.

Biotikon® does not use silicon dioxide or silicic acid (SiO2, known as E551) as a flow aid. Without the use of processing agents, which are not required to be mentioned on the packaging.
